Back in my salad days as Chief Exec of Pier 1 Imports, we were on our way to Nagoya on a buying trip, when I happened upon this ingenious soap dish...made in exquisite white porcelain, but holding a totally separate raised wooden drying deck within.  Thinking of all our soggy soap dishes back home in Texas, I championed its purchase. 

The plain and obvious practicality of the soapdish made it a winner in our stores.  The wooden deck is easily removed and washed.  The raised surface keeps air flowing underneath and your soap bone dry.

Yes, you can find similar dishes in China for less, but to that I respectfully say...Bushido!!  One cannot find finer white porcelain on this planet than in Nagoya Japan.  Approximately 3" Deep x 5" Wide x 1.5" High.
