Vermonters don't spill the beans. Although most hold down more than one job to pay their bills, they are quite content to keep you in the dark as to the second...or third. It's just part of their stubborn strength. It's not easy to live here, but damn satisfying if you can do it.
The other day, I was working in our orchard with a fellow; a friend of more than 2 decades. We've shared plenty of sweat equity during that time. I would have said I knew him well. But out of the blue, over the sound of our chain saws, he asked if I'd like to see his coin collection! Said he brought some of it over in his pickup. Brushing wood chips off our jackets, we carried our saws to his vehicle. Sure enough, he opened up a dazzling array of rare coins...dating back to years before the birth of Christ!
Soon I was wishing I had brought along my Hero's Welcome 10X Jeweler's Loupe to gain a closeup view, but alas all I had in my pockets was dog treats and and an extra chain. Who knew?? Our 18mm loupe is made of stainless steel and highly polished glass. It expands your view by 10 fold. Note the size of the #2 on the pencil in the photo above. This powerful instrument will last a lifetime and prove to be a helpful companion. Appraise coins. Search for fleas. Restore Grandad's watch. Solve a murder. Read the fine print.
Folds into small a protective self-case. Clean with soapy water and a soft cloth.
