If grown men aren't supposed to cry, then my mistake was to buy this book.
Years ago, I read this true story of these two brilliant iconic generals; a lanky and much-loved, informal Brit and a high-born French Marquis, fighting for their countries and the possession of North America.
That they both died during the final battle that settled it all makes the tale all the more memorable. Famed author, Francis Parkman, finished the manuscript in 1884 and his book has remained in print ever since!
If you love American History, or know someone who does, this book won't disappoint. I was truly sorry to have finished.
